Membership Has Its Privileges
Joining the Delmar Fire Department provides you with many great benefits. You're in for a lot more than just drills, fire and EMS calls. What makes becoming a volunteer so special are the relationships you build with your fellow members. Downtime at the station can be spent relaxing with friends, participating in social events and outings that take place year-round. We even compete in sporting events with a Drill & Racing team as well as a softball league. Along with the social aspects that come with joining, you also can benefit from the networking that happens when you become a member of such a diverse group of individuals.
Service Award Program
The Delmar Fire Department participates in the State of the New York Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) for volunteer firefighters. Firefighters can earn a monetary award, for each year of active service, collectable when the firefighter reaches his or her retirement age.
